North West chemical firm relocates to £1.5m facility
A North West based manufacturer of aerosols and consumer chemicals is re-locating its growing Commercial and Marketing functions to a new, £1.5 million modern facility in Greater Manchester.
Oldham firm JBL (James Briggs Ltd), one of the largest companies of its kind in Europe, are moving to a 10,000 sq ft premises strategically located between the firm’s Royton and Chadderton manufacturing sites.
It will be home to a state-of the-art technical development laboratory along with the sales and marketing function.
Jim Sumner, JBL chairman said: “Due to the rapid development of JBL’s business and our ambitious plans for the future, we’re making a significant investment in purchasing and fitting out a new Commercial and Technical Centre. This facility will serve as our ‘Centre of Excellence’, where we can showcase our expertise and welcome key UK and global buyers to see our formulation development and packaging expertise first hand.”
Max Bass, JBL’s newly appointed commercial director added: “This investment is great news for the region and is another major step in the continuing transformation of James Briggs. We are looking forward to the future with equal measures of ambition and confidence.”
The fit-out and relocation is planned for the first half of 2014.
