Events firm invest £100k and grow contracts
South Shields-based JC Events have invested £100k in new visual and and sound equipment in order to capitalise on demand for its services.
The business is less than a year old but clients already include the Alan Shearer Foundation, Hilton hotel, Fuji Films, The Beacon, Crafters Companion, Media Works, NOF Energy.
The upgrading follows the appointment of AV manager Jai Wall, Matt Bowmaker as events production manager, and office manager Jill Gilligan.
Their arrival has more than doubled a workforce led by managing director Jacqui Chapman from headquarters at the £4.5m One Trinity Green business centre in South Shields, from where it runs an office and factory space to build props
Ms Chapman said: “There is no room for error when it comes to putting on an event to the very highest level of sound and vision – I demand the best, and so do the companies and organisations we work with.
“Our existing AV department was exceptional but it is always necessary to look to improve and to explore if something that little bit extra special can be found.
“The investment is significant but we have planned very carefully, we know exactly the direction we are going in and what it is that we want to be able to offer clients – there is little that we cannot achieve for them.
“Adding to the workforce has also been essential and we now have a fantastically creative and imaginative team in place.”
“There have been many challenges in the ten months since the company was founded but it has been a tremendously exciting time and extremely satisfying.”
The firm’s joiners and technicians have manufactured stage sets including Willy Wonka’s factory, the Wild West, Hollywood, Bollywood, and Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
