On the job training proves a success for Huddersfield accountants

Huddersfield -based TaxAssist Accountants is celebrating a training success after office manager Sue Ball flew through her professional qualifications while training on the job.

Sue, 34 has worked with TaxAssist Accountants for nearly seven years having joined the company on a new deal job creation scheme after already earning an Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification.

She then became a full time student whilst also continuing to work part time at TaxAssist and was then promoted to full time office manager after graduating in 2010.

Since graduating from Huddersfield University with first class honours in Accountancy and Finance, Sue has been working to become a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), which she has achieved this month.

Nick Brook who runs TaxAssist Accountants in Huddersfield said: “We firmly believe in on the job training; too often young people leave college with no real experience of working life, whereas working while studying allows them to train in their chosen career and also gain valuable work experience.”

Sue Ball said; “Working while studying has been hugely beneficial for me; it has meant, as well as earning a steady income, I have been able to work in my chosen career, gaining firsthand experience, rather than just sitting in a classroom.”

TaxAssist Accountants Huddersfield is a local business, based in Yorkshire providing tax and accountancy advice and services purely to small businesses.
