Rotherham recycling business invests £150k in ‘green’ vehicle fleet

The Ron Hull Group has purchased a fleet of seven energy-efficient cars from JCT600’s Volkswagen dealership in Rotherham.

Located on the Barbot Hall Industrial Estate in Rotherham, the Ron Hull Group offers a range of services from waste management and recycling to demolition and dismantling.

Established in 1976, the successful group now employs over 190 staff and in recent years it has pursued a policy of reducing its carbon footprint by employing “environmentally-friendly principles.”

As part of this ongoing campaign, Ron Hull has now replaced seven of its vehicle fleet with Volkswagen Golf models incorporating the unique BlueMotion fuel efficient technology.

“We were keen to buy locally, and it was crucial that our fleet demonstrate our green credentials,” explains Paul Furniss, group purchasing manager for the Ron Hull Group. “The move to greener vehicles marks another key milestone in the Ron Hull Group’s quest to be as energy efficient as possible.”

Paul Hague, head of business for JCT600’s Rotherham Volkswagen dealership, added: “It’s great to work with such a well-known Rotherham business and to be able to support its green initiatives through Volkswagen’s innovative technology.”

With its headquarters in Bradford, JCT600 is a family business with a history of more than 60 years. It has 47 dealerships throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and the North East and sells 19 of the world’s most respected brands such as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW/MINI, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Vauxhall and Volkswagen.
