Expansion plans for award-winning Brazilian restaurant
Liverpool entrepreneur Andy Aldrich has revealed plans to expand his award-winning city-centre restaurant, Viva Brazil.
A new and exclusive dining area will open upstairs, taking the total number of covers at the restaurant to 200.
Around £250,000 is being spent on the refurbishment of the Castle Street restaurant which will see a new section to cater for private parties being created. The bar area will also be extended.
Mr Aldrich, who also owns restaurants in Cardiff and Glasgow and has plans for further openings this year, said: “Liverpool is our flagship restaurant and has been a tremendous success since it opened just over three years ago.
“We feel now is the time to give the restaurant a face-lift. It is perfect timing with preparations now starting for the World Cup in Brazil. We are expecting a fantastic atmosphere here in the restaurant throughout the World Cup and have lots of events planned.
“The money is being invested on improving the décor and opening upstairs. This will enable us to cater for an additional 80 guests upstairs and also provide a private area for parties. We are receiving an increasing number of inquiries for both private and corporate parties and this will be the perfect location for these.”
With the Viva Brazil concept now firmly establishing itself in the three cities, Mr Aldrich says he hopes to open in a further two cities in the next six months.
He added: “Viva Liverpool, Glasgow and Cardiff have been a massive success and the concept has gone down extremely well.
“I cannot say at this stage the cities where we have sites lined up but they will be perfect for our concept.”
“Viva Brazil brings something completely different to the table. The concept is simple, Viva Brazil gives you more – more of everything…. food, service and atmosphere”.
The Viva Brazil restaurants all offer a Brazilian-style dining experience, including a troupe of passadors, or carvers, who move from table to table serving the finest selection of meats and offering a variety of drinks including the traditional cocktail, Caipirinha.
Each restaurant is fitted with a Brazilian barbecue and a salad bar, and everyone is offered a selection of cocktails upon arrival which they can see hand-shaken by a team of skilled bar tenders.
The menu offers more than 15 select cuts of beef, lamb, pork and chicken, all of which diners can see slow-cooked over the charcoal barbeque. To accompany the fine cuts of meat, dishes such as garlic mashed potatoes, polenta, fried banana and artisan cheese breads are served. There is also a diverse vegetarian offering.
