Jones Melling secures Hampshire design and build contract
A North West-based chartered surveyors has continued its development in the education sector, after winning a coveted contract with Yateley Manor Prep School.
Jones Melling, of Warrington, was successful in a competitive bid for the project, which covers the refurbishment of the former St Peter’s CE Junior School, in Hampshire, that was recently acquired by Yateley Manor. The 1,600 square metre project will provide specialist music, art, design technology and languages classrooms.
Ken Jones, joint founder and managing director of Jones Melling, said: “This is an exciting project for Jones Melling as we look to cement our nationwide presence in 2014 and bolster the number of education contracts.
“The renovation is currently in the planning process but, we intend to deliver a cost-effective refurbishment that exceeds the client’s expectations, once that’s secured.”
Just five years since its launch, Jones Melling has firmly established itself as a rising star amongst chartered surveyors practices. Its client roster features some of the UK’s largest banking and retail companies, such as Allied Irish Bank and Debenhams, as well as a host of leading architects, care operators and legal practices.
Work on the Yateley Manor project is due to commence in June 2014, with completion forecast for April 2015. Jones Melling will be providing the Employer’s Agent role for the school, supplementing this with CDM Coordination and an Asbestos Survey for the works.
Brandon Ashton, bursar at Yateley Manor, said: “After first meeting with Jones Melling in July 2011 we were immediately impressed with the team’s personable, yet professional approach.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing the project come through to fruition and are confident that Jones Melling will deliver on all fronts.”
