Irwin Mitchell, Linda Roberts

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has added to the litigation expertise in its Sheffield office with the appointment of solicitor Linda Roberts.

Commenting on her move to the firm, Linda said: “I’m very excited to be part of the top-ranking litigation practice.

“The profile and reputation of Irwin Mitchell’s Business Legal Services side has grown significantly in the past few years and I am looking forward to helping to push this forward further.”

Bradford Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Liam Sutton

A senior manager from Bradford University has joined the policy-making group of Bradford Chamber of Commerce.

Dr Liam Sutton, the head of knowledge transfer, took up his place among the Chamber Council last month. He joins the 34 business representatives who meet monthly to determine how they can best support business and lobby decision-makers.

Dr Sutton said: “I’m really looking forward to engaging with the business community through Chamber Council. It’s an exciting time for us, with a new Vice-Chancellor heading the organisation and a renewed recognition of ourselves as a leading technology university.

hlw Keeble Hawson, Paul Newbert

Senior conveyancer Paul Newbert has been appointed by hlw Keeble Hawson to strengthen the residential conveyancing department in its Doncaster office.

Managing partner of hlw Keeble Hawson’s Doncaster office, Paul Goel, said: “Paul comes to us with a wealth of expertise and we welcome him on board to help grow our Doncaster department where we pride ourselves on giving our clients a top class service which is tailored to their individual needs.”

Paul Newbert, who has previously worked in the Doncaster area, commented: “hlw Keeble Hawson has a strong presence and reputation in the town and across the region. I’m enjoying being on board and renewing my contacts in the area.”

UPN, David Clarkson

Sheffield-based David Clarkson has been appointed as a non-executive director of the United Pallet Network (UPN).

Mr Clarkson, 46, is managing director of family firm DBL Logistics and will join the UPN board in an advisory capacity, acting as a regional representative for fellow companies within the national network.

David Clarkson, who will remain as managing director at DBL Logistics, said: “It’s a fantastic honour to join the UPN board and act as a voice of the network to the directors.

“As a founding member of UPN, I have been involved with the company for more than 12 years. I’m looking forward to working even closer with the management team to help continue the success UPN has enjoyed in recent years.”

Redmove, Sally May

York estate and letting agency Redmove strengthens its team with the appointment of Sally Male (pictured below left) as lettings manager.

Talking about the York property market, Sarah Stabler who also recently joined the team as sales manager (pictured below right) says, “Now is a great time to sell properties as we are seeing vendors achieving strong offers due to low property supply and high demand in the area.

“Redmove has a really proactive approach and strong emphasis on marketing and so it’s pretty fast paced work here.”

Benenden Heath, Pete Robinson

Benenden Health has announced the appointment of a new member services director. Peter Robinson, a former NHS director, will lead the development and delivery of the York-based healthcare provider’s customer service strategy including leadership of the operations teams.

Commenting on his appointment, Peter said, “It’s an exciting time to join Benenden Health, an organisation which has a clear focus on providing high quality service for its members and that is reflected in the fact the business has secured the Moneywise “Most Trusted Healthcare Provider” award for three consecutive years.

“I’m looking forward to driving the development of the customer service strategy as the business looks to change and grow.

Addleshaw Goddard, partners

Paul Dight (Finance & Projects) Mark Hallam (Corporate) and Ben Slack (Business Support and Restructuring) all from Leeds, have been promoted to partner level at Addleshaw Goddard along with several others.

Monica Burch, senior partner, said: “Refreshing and strengthening our partnership through lateral hires and internal promotions is a key element of our plan to deliver better for clients and take new market share.
