Citypress puts stamp on Post Office profile

Citypress PR agency, which has its head office in Manchester, has been appointed to a new agency roster announced by the Post Office.

The agency becomes one of eight firms to join the roster, with a brief to support the Post Office’s plans for growth as a commercial business with a strong social purpose.

The announcement follows a roster review which began in November 2013 and attracted over 120 applications.

The Citypress remit includes consumer PR support to the Post Office’s financial services business, whose products include current accounts, saving accounts, mortgages, personal loans, credits cards and a range of personal lines insurance products.

Others on the roster are London agencies Lansons, Eulogy, Citigate, Salt, Third City, Unity and Cohn & Wolfe.

Nina Arnott, Head of PR at the Post Office said: “We are delighted to be working with such ambitious and creative agencies at an exciting time for the Post Office, as we transform our branches and develop the multi-channel strategy that will secure the future of our business.

“With over 11,500 branches throughout the UK and over 170 products and services, the Post Office turns over £1bn a year and has a bigger network than all the banks and building societies combined.

“Around 18 million people visit us each week. We are an important UK organisation and a trusted high street brand.”

She added: “We’ve chosen agencies which will provide us with a wide range of recent big brand experience within our markets and which also understand the unique social role the Post Office plays in the heart of our communities.

“Most importantly, we wanted to work with people who take pride in being the best at what they do and are passionate about telling our story.”

Martin Currie, Managing Director of Citypress, said: “The Post Office is one of the UK’s most recognised and trusted brands, with a rapidly expanding portfolio of financial services products.

“This provides the perfect platform to build awareness and advocacy amongst consumers looking for competitive products from a brand that cares.

“This is an important achievement for Citypress and an exciting opportunity to demonstrate our expertise in fully-integrated campaigning for major consumer brands.”
