New date for unique free event for Notts family businesses
High demand for the inaugural Ask the Adviser event in Nottingham, hosted by national organisation Families in Business (FiB), means it is to take place on a new date of Thursday 8th May.
“We have been overwhelmed by family businesses keen to attend the event, but who are especially busy in April, the original timing for Ask the Adviser Nottingham, so have changed the date so we can make it possible for the majority to attend,” explains Dani Saveker, CEO of FiB.
“The time and venue for this free event remain as 8.30am until lunchtime at the family-owned Carriage Hall in Plumtree,” she adds.
The Chairman of Award-winning family business BM Catalysts is guest speaker at the event.
As Dani explains, Ask the Adviser is all about connecting family businesses with an array of non competing advisers that are experienced in working with family run or owned firms:
“The event is a little like speed dating for family business representatives and advisers from accountants and lawyers to marketing specialists. It is a fast-paced, networking based concept specifically designed for busy family business owners, leaders and key team members, and a unique opportunity for them to have short one-to-one confidential meetings with up to five advisers, in one place and one morning.
“We’re really pleased to bring Ask the Adviser to the East Midlands,” she adds, “especially as it has been one of our most important regions since we launched in 2012. The East Midlands boasts the highest percentage of family businesses in Britain, being home to 237,000 family businesses, which accounts for 77 percent of all businesses in the region and eight percent nationally.”
East Midlands advisers taking part in the event include PKF Cooper Parry, Cooper Parry Wealth and Nelsons.
