Warrington’s Pheonix ISL acquired by American firm

Warrington-based Phoenix Inspection Systems (Phoenix ISL) has been acquired by an Massachusetts-basedcompany.

The American firm, Nova Instruments LLC, has acquired Phoenix ISL, which is a supplier of ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment, for an undisclosed sum.

The corporate finance team at the Manchester office of international accountants Mazars advised on the acquisition.

Phoenix ISL, has been supplying companies in the nuclear and power generation, petrochemical, aerospace and transportation industries for more than 30 years.

Karl Quirk, owner of Phoenix Inspection Systems, said: “The acquisition of Phoenix ISL by Nova Instruments presents a great opportunity for Phoenix to offer its product range and expertise to a wider market and be able to integrate the Nova partners’ technology into its customer offerings.”

Peter Terry, partner in the Manchester office of Mazars, advised Phoenix ISL. He said: “We are delighted to advise Karl on the acquisition which provides Phoenix with an ideal platform to expand its products on the global market.”

Jean-Marc Muller, president of Nova Instruments, added: “The addition of Phoenix ISL to our portfolio of businesses is a synergistic one adding new technologies and systems to the range of ultrasound techniques our subsidiary NDT Systems Inc. currently supplies and will allow Nova Instruments to further establish itself as a comprehensive solution provider within the NDT market.”
