Avalanche restaurants invest £2 million in new Manchester sites creating 100 jobs

Manchester-based Italian restaurant Avalanche is set to invest more than £2 million in the city, with the of launch two additional sites.

The establishments will create more than 100 jobs. The restaurant and bar, located on Booth Street, plans to build on the success of its current venue with two new locations, based in the city centre and South Manchester.

The restaurant has reported month-on-month growth in sales and restaurant covers and a turnover of £2 million in its first year of trade.

Zara Ishaq, managing director of Avalanche, said: “Avalanche has witnessed rapid growth since its initial launch – exceeding the original business plan and surpassing our projected turnover figure for 2013.”

“Over the past 18 months we have created a loyal customer-base and built a credible reputation and brand that has become synonymous with fine Italian dining.

“We had initially planned to launch additional sites within Manchester over the coming years. However, the success of our first venue has accelerated this process.

“The two new locations will further strengthen Avalanche’s presence within Manchester, allowing us to expand our offering within city’s vibrant hospitality and dining market.

“In addition to this, we are committed to launching the Avalanche brand farther afield, and will start to look to other cities – including London – once the new Manchester properties are up and running.

Avalanche was opened towards the end of 2012.The business is forecast to turnover £10 million by the third quarter of 2015, and is set to expand to 1000 covers towards the end of that year.
