Cheshire franchise firm in running for second award

A Warrington-based company which provides Personal Assistant services has been shortlisted for a national franchising award.

Pink Spaghetti, which offers services such as research, administration and social media marketing, as well as comparing domestic utility bills, party planning, shopping, running errands and filing, has reached the finals of the EWIF awards for women in franchising.

EWIF is dedicated to encouraging women into franchising, with membership drawn from all sectors within the industry. The awards ceremony takes place in London on 22 May.

Pink Spaghetti was set up in 2009 up by friends Vicky Matthews and Caroline Gowing.

In 2012 they franchised their company and are now operating in six locations across the UK. Clients are mainly micro-businesses and most are run by women.

Describing their decision to set up the business, Vicky Matthews said: “We’d talked the idea over for a few years, but the time hadn’t been right. But then we both reached a time in our careers when we wanted to take the plunge.

“For me, that was when I had the opportunity to take voluntary redundancy, for Caroline, when she came to the end of a large project.

“As well as looking for a change for our corporate jobs, we both wanted to find something that would fit around our family commitments. So Pink Spaghetti was born”.

The company has already clinched the Business of the Year title at the Network She Awards, held in March.
