Hundreds of holidaymakers affected as Huddersfield’s Villa Parade calls in administrators
Huddersfield’s Villa Parade has called in the administrators after a feud with a holiday rentals firm over the renting out of exclusive villas in the Mediterranean, mainly Majorca and Portugal.
O’Haras Ltd, based in Cleckheaton, were appointed administrators of the travel firm.
The firm has been involved in a legal battle with the holiday rentals firm Travelopo over villa contracts in Majorca.
According to Travel Weekly social media rumours over the extent of the dispute were the reason behind the decline of Villa Parade.
Last month, the firm issued statements assuring customers the majority of bookings were “secure and will be fulfilled”.
However, the firm currently has 70 clients on holidays abroad and a further 1,300 who had booked villas through the firm. There are also some 400 who have flights booked with Air Parade.
People affected by the closing of Villa Parade, its flight branch Air Parade or Luxury Villa escapes which the company also traded as, have been told to contact ABTA, the Associated British Travel Association.
