Sunderland digital marketers aim to create jobs with office expansion
A North East digital marketing company has expanded and is planning to create jobs following a round of venture capital funding.
Takeaways Online has moved into bigger space at the Jupiter Centre at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC), in Sunderland.
Established in 2012, Takeaways Online, have tripled their office space from 400 sq ft to 1200 sq ft with plans to take staff numbers up to 15 by the end of the year.
After identifying a gap in the market the company developed a full online ordering solution to takeaways and restaurants all over the UK which differs from the model used by other companies.
Director Kevin Jager, explained: “We speak to a lot of restaurant and takeaway owners and the one true message that comes across over and over again is that they are fed up of paying a bulk of their profits directly to these online services; currently the suppliers are making more profit than the client…and that just isn’t right. By utilising our system and marketing help we can increase our customer’s profits by up to 80%.
“It was clear they were looking for an alternative and we are it. We are the only company in the UK who deliver modern marketing technology to clients using innovative software including; personalised SMS marketing, constant relationship management and a social media presence.
“We originally took a three person office at the BIC because of the support that is on hand as well as the fantastic facilities on offer. It’s great to be in a position to create more jobs from a stunning location.”
The company have also recently landed a large investment from North East VC Funders Rivers Capital and will be using this as help towards expansion and job creation.
Jill Smith, facilities manager, added: “It is always satisfying to see businesses at the BIC grow and expand and Takeaways Online are really delivering in this area.
“The technologies they use are not what one would usually associate with the food industry and it is wonderful to see this innovative business go from strength to strength.”
