Young personal training entrepreneur targets North East business community
A personal training studio aimed at the region’s business community has opened new private training facilities at Hoults Yard, Newcastle.
Founded in 2012 by 27-year-old personal trainer Chris Morris, Clear Fitness offers one-to-one, partnered, group and online virtual personal training sessions.
Bringing existing clients with him including professional footballers, boxers, models and reality TV personalities, Chris now hopes to target Newcastle’s thriving business community following his relocation to the vibrant Hoults Yard office complex in the city’s Ouseburn Regeneration Area.
Chris said the expansion has enabled the business to offer more personalised and private services to its customer-base: “The opening of our own private studio has meant we’ve been able to run sessions with clients who don’t necessarily feel comfortable with the gym environment or exercising in front of other people.
“We looked at a lot of studios, but with it’s business-centric location and facilities you simply don’t get in the city-centre such as free parking, Hoults Yard seemed the perfect fit for the studio.”
Building on the unique networking opportunities that Hoults Yard affords, in the coming months Clear Fitness plan to launch their own series of health and fitness seminars, primarily aimed at the region’s growing start-up and SME community.
Chris added: “People come to us to get fit, lose weight and gain muscle, but we want to highlight the importance of health too, which is especially important to office workers who traditionally don’t eat well or get enough exercise throughout the course of the working day.”
With Clear Fitness expected to exceed its growth forecasts, Mr Morris says that the business plans to increase its staff over the next 12 months, with the addition of three personal trainers as well as admin and marketing staff.
Chris said: “We’re in a really strong position to grow. I think part of this is down to our new location, which has enabled us to really feed off the sense of creativity and entrepreneurship that the Ouseburn offers.”
