Yorkshire business people honoured on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list

Several Yorkshire business people have been honoured on this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to business in the region.

These include:

  • Stephanie Burras. 
Chief executive Ahead Partnership. CBE for services 
to business in Yorkshire. (Leeds)
  • Professor Isobel Anne POLLOCK Lately President, Institution of Mechanical Engineers. CBE for services to Mechanical Engineering. (Huddersfield, West Yorkshire)
  • Neil Martin McLean. Chair, Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership. CBE for services to business and skills in West Yorkshire.
  • Lesley Batchelor. Director general Institute of Export. OBE for services to business.
  • Sally Louise Bolton. General manager Rugby League World Cup 2013. OBE for services to rugby league.
  • James Lawrence Dick, DL. Co-Founder and chairman CatZero. OBE for services to youth development and business in Hull and East Yorkshire.
  • Susan Houston. Assistant director, Yorkshire, Humber and the North East, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. For services to the economy in the North East.
  • John Dawson COTTON Chairman, John Cotton Group. OBE for services to Business in West Yorkshire.
  • Abu Zafar. Founder and 
owner Orient Press. BEM for services to Business and 
to the Asian community in Bradford.

In total, 1,149 people have received an award.
