Sheffield environmental services firm doubles staff in a year
Sheffield-based environmental firm Ecus Ltd, has seen staff levels more than double in the last year.
Established in 1986, Ecus provides a range of environmental services assisting clients through planning applications, including environmental impact assessment, ecology, landscape, heritage, geoscience and environmental management.
The company now employs more than 50 people around the country with further recruitment planned for the coming months in Sheffield, Basingstoke and Stirling.
Ecus’ multidisciplinary structure creates the perfect platform for growth and in the 2013 financial year, Ecus saw turnover grow by 50% over the previous year.
Nick Birkinshaw, managing director of Ecus, said: “The last 12 months have been an exciting period for the company.
“We have begun to roll-out our growth plans across the UK with the creation of new offices and new jobs in key regional locations.
“This national activity has coincided with expanding our office and laboratory in Sheffield, which has allowed us to take on more staff as well as offer the opportunity to grow further at head office in the future.
“It’s fantastic to see such a positive response to the teams hard work, with Ecus now fully established as one the leading independent environment consultancies in the UK.
“We are working on a number of projects with key businesses, local authorities and national environmental bodies around the country. Our versatile portfolio allows Ecus to support public and private organisations in all areas of the planning process.”
