Lancaster Samms wins contracts to sell £5 million new homes in York
Three contracts from property developers to sell almost £5 millon of new homes in York have been won by estate agents Lancaster Samms.
The contracts are to sell a total of 11 newly-developed terraced town houses, all within half a mile of each other in Heworth, for local independent residential property developers.
The three schemes are Minster Walk which comprises three, three-bedroom terraced town houses with a total value of £1.2 million developed by Alcuin Homes on the site of a former pub car park; eight three and four bedroom townhouses at Heworth Parade, Mill Lane, with a total value of £3.1 million built on the site of a former garage by Manor House Developments.
The third scheme is two Victorian townhouses on the site of a former bank at East Parade which have been totally refurbished by the Skelton Consultancy and have a total value of £740k.
Alcuin Homes director, Richard Marchant, says: “Neil Samms at Lancaster Samms sold my private residence a few years ago and I was very impressed with the attention to detail and high level of service.
“Also, as agents, their understanding of the York property market is second to none so we chose them to sell this development, which is due to complete this autumn, for us.”
Lancaster Samms joint founder and director, Charlie Lancaster, says: “We pride ourselves on providing a high level of service and this works particularly well with distinctive, high-quality local properties created by small independent developers.
“These homes are among the first wave of independent residential schemes to come onto the market during the last few years following the shortage of development funding after the banking crisis.
“Homes developed by local independent businesses are generally very good for retaining York’s distinctive character and we are delighted to have been appointed.
“There is considerable buyer interest in all three schemes and we are already agreeing house sales off plan.”
Lancaster Samms, High Petergate, which was founded in 2012, has expertise in selling a wide range of properties, from apartments to exclusive detached family homes and historic buildings, throughout York and its surrounding villages.
