Preston car dealership secures funding for expansion
Established car dealership, Capitol Car Centre Ltd, has opened its doors from brand new premises on Plungington Road, Preston, and is excited about the opportunities this will present for the £4 million turnover business.
Director, Chris Clegg, had been in the trade for 25 years before turning to own and run his own car dealership in 1997. Setting up as a sole trader, Capitol Car Centre became a limited company in 2007.
Specialising in used sports, prestige and performance cars, Chris sought new premises to increase the capacity of cars at the enlarged 8,500 square feet indoor premises.
Chris is a long-standing customer of RBS so when relationship manager, Andrew Minors, was approached to fund the new premises he had sound knowledge of the business and what Chris was looking to achieve.
The funding package allowed for the purchase and fit-out to a high specification and will house the six number of employees, comprising: sales, admin and valeting staff.
Chris Clegg, director of Capitol Car Centre Ltd, said: “This phase of expansion allows us to hold more cars in stock, be visible to the Preston community and encompass our valeting service on one site – we could not previously do this so I see this as a real bonus. Andrew at RBS has been instrumental in helping with the funding side and allowing us to achieve our ambitions.
“The funding process itself went smoothly from start to finish, which is what you need when you are trying to run a business day to day. I am looking forward to settling into our new premises and maintaining our position as a credible dealership in Lancashire.”
Andrew Minors, relationship manager at RBS added, “It has been a real pleasure dealing with Chris and this latest move packages everything together for Chris under one roof and allows him to expand his business in a positive direction. I wish him and the team all the very best of luck as they trade from their enlarged professional premises.”
