Hill Dickinson to deliver new Institute of Recruiters qualification to assist SME organisations
International commercial law firm Hill Dickinson is working with the Institute of Recruiters to deliver a new qualification in human resource practice which will provide entry-level HR training for owners and managers of small to medium enterprises.
The Level 3 qualification in the Principles of Human Resource Practice, which is regulated by OfQual, will provide practical employee recruitment, management and retention training and is aimed at managers who are not currently HR professionals or do not have a dedicated HR resource and who may be looking for a foundation in HR as part of their role.
The seven-month course is now open for enrolment and will begin on 1 September 2014. Using a blended learning approach, the course will combine online learning with practical face-to-face workshops and will be delivered by practising employment law and HR professionals.
Hill Dickinson will deliver the practical elements of the qualification, including seven one day master classes held across the firm’s Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and London offices.
Andrew Rushworth, HR director at Hill Dickinson, comments: “As the economy begins to recover, thriving SME firms will be looking to recruit new staff as well as to retain and reward their key performers or perhaps tackle performance issues with other members of staff. SME owners and managers face considerable issues just running their businesses so developing their knowledge of HR management will help them to handle employee issues and in doing so strengthen their business as they move forward.”
“The new qualification, and our expert guidance during the course, will give owners and managers the skills to make their staff a real asset to the organisation.”
