New Leeds office for Manchester design firm aiming for 30% growth in 12 months
Manchester firm Scott Hughes Design is opening a new Leeds office as it aims for 30% growth in the next 12 months.
The firm was formed in 2003, since then expanding to a practice of 25 people offering innovative design solutions in civil and structural engineering as well as specialising is sustainable design and audits with turnover already at around £1.4 million.
Scott Hughes have won numerous design and innovation awards including an innovation award for a pre fabricated building built at Port Lockroy in the Antarctic.
Scott Hughes have carried out numerous projects in Yorkshire including prestigious jobs such as the refurbishment of Scarborough Spa.
Dr Colin Riches (pictured right) , who is based in Leeds and well known in the Leeds market is set to run the new office, with plans to havea staff of 4 in the new office in The Calls within 3 months, and 6 to 7 people after their first year, which will all be new positions recruited locally from the Leeds area.
Ian Scott, founding director said “We set up the practice 10 years ago to enable people passionate about engineering to work on the best projects with the best Architects and design teams.
“This enthusiasm has resulted in most of our work being repeat work, or from client recommendation. An expansion into Leeds is the next logical step to service our clients in Yorkshire and enable us to recruit new staff with a similar passion for what we do.”
