Entrepreneurial couple takeover Preston B&B
Local husband and wife duo, Andy and Gill Osborne have successfully completed the acquisition of popular Preston bed and breakfast Middle Holly Cottage.
The duo secured a six figure funding package from The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to support the purchase of the former coaching inn, which is located in the village of Forton between Garstang and Lancaster.
Originally built in 1820 Middle Holly Cottage has four en-suite bedrooms, complete with flat screen televisions, refreshment facilities and complementary Wi-Fi internet connection.
The couple has also revealed that they hope to open a tea room at the front of the property in the near future to attract trade from local residents and walkers.
It is hoped that this will also provide an additional outlet to sell cakes and pastries from for their Scrummy Somethings Cake Design business, which the couple have run for the last two and a half years from their home in Cheshire.
RBS has supported the acquisition with a six figure fee-free loan provided under the bank’s Government backed Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS).
Andy Osborne, Owner of Middle Holly Cottage Bed and Breakfast said: “We are thrilled to be the new owners of Middle Holly Cottage Bed and Breakfast. It has been a dream of ours for a long time to own and run our own B&B and we are excited that it has finally become our reality. Middle Holly Cottage is already really popular with visitors to the region and we look forward to welcoming both new and existing customers to stay with us.
“I’d also like to thank the team at RBS for their help and support in assisting us to complete the acquisition. The loan we have secured has been really affordable and has meant that rather than using revenue to pay fees and bank charges, we can put funds to good use within the business.”
