Continued European Growth for Surreal
Following the opening of their Portuguese office, North East based brand strategists Surreal, have gone from strength to strength in the European Market.
The decision to open an office in Portugal’s industrial heartland Porto; was a strategic move taken by Surreal.
Speaking to Bdaily in January, the agency’s MD Ian Smith said “It offers a great base in an area where there are many potential business development opportunities for us to target, and as most of the international agencies only have a presence in the south of the country, there are relatively few who offer a strategic marketing approach to the brand experience”
Surreal continue to reap the benefits of this strategic move. They have recently won a contract to develop the Altano wine brand and new marketing campaign for the Port and Wine producer Symington Family Estates; well known in the UK for Graham’s and Cockburns port. Wine is developing a better reputation in Portugal and Surreal have been commissioned to appeal to their target market through a large on and offline advertising campaign. The campaign has been well received so far and has included several press ads in GQ as well as planned countrywide roadshows.
Surreal currently support Portuguese client Sonae Industria, and handle all European marketing for US Meditech company, Stryker. Despite their strong European presence, Surreal recognise the potential back home in the North East, being very similar to Northern Portugal in terms of industry; and feel the experience gained from operating extensively in the European market, will establish their presence here in the North East.
The recent appointment of business development manager Lee Roberts here in the UK is another positive step in the growth and ambition of Surreal. “The North East is packed with ambitious successful businesses; here at Surreal we want to be not only a part of, but a contributor to the continued success of the region”.
Lee brings with him a wealth of Business Development experience across both B2B and B2C sectors. For more info contact lee@whysurreal.com
