Leeds' Brick-Link acquired by Welsh rival

Leeds-based Brick-Link, a brick merchant to the construction industry, has been acquired by Welsh rival Brickability Ltd.

The enlarged group will have annual turnover in excess of £45 million and employ over 45 staff.

Brick-link Ltd will remain as a trading company within the Brickability group of Companies to allow continuity of trade with all existing suppliers and customers.

Calum Currie, managing director of Brick-link will continue in his current role, whilst also joining the main board of Brickability.

He said: “The amalgamation of Brick-link into the Brickability group of companies makes the larger group market leaders in terms of facing brick distribution in the UK. The new group will also benefit from complete national coverage.”

Hamish Morrison (pictured right) and Matt Tice at BHP Corporate Finance acted as lead advisors to the vendor. Hamish commented:

“Having successfully helped Calum acquire the company through an MBO three years ago it was very satisfying to be able to then help him with this transaction which I am sure will provide a great platform for the business to continue to go from strength to strength”.

Legal advice was provided by Natalie Saunders of Pharos Legal.
