Vernacare launches innovation in infection prevention at Healthcare Estates 2014.
Infection prevention company Vernacare will launch a new innovation in hygienic patient toileting and washing at Healthcare Estates 2014 this October (7-8) at Manchester Central, stand C10.
The company will introduce its new fully hands-free operated Vortex disposal unit, a next generation machine that will set new standards in human waste management.
3D designs for Vernacare’s new easy-clean commode chair will also be on show. This product has been developed collaboratively with clinicians to provide a robust, easy-clean design that will help reduce the risk of HCAIs.
Vernacare’s unique single-use waste management system was developed 50 years ago. The system works by replacing traditional re-usable waste management products, such as urinals, bedpans and wash bowls, with hygienic containers - made from renewable natural fibre. These then disintegrate after use when placed in Vernacare’s environmentally friendly Vortex disposal machines, which release the miniscule particles down the drain using a fast, cold water process.
Vernacare is the only company to manufacture a complete single-use human waste disposal system that not only helps to reduce the risk of cross infection, but also improves environmental performance, while saving nursing time and generating cost savings.
