Warrington glazers invest in North West hotel refurbishment company

Warrington-based specialist glazing contractor Britplas has invested in a North West hotel and leisure refurbishment company.

Formerly based in Timperley, P&C Projects carry out refurbishment work across the UK for a range of clients, from large hotel chains such as the Marriott to smaller boutique establishments, as well as taking on private domestic contracts.

The investment has seen the P&C team move into Britplas’ Warrington offices.

Operating from a 40,000 sq ft factory on Kingsland Grange, Woolston, Britplas has a particular specialism in the healthcare and mental health markets, and its Safevent window has now been installed in over 100 acute and secure projects for 20 NHS trusts and six private hospital companies in the UK. The company now employs over 70 people, having grown from under 20 employees in the last five years.

Britplas products are now gaining global recognition, and they have recently completed projects in Australia and North America, opening a North American office to handle further business.

Britplas’ commercial director John Blackwell said: “P&C Projects have a great track record in their sector, and are well poised to capitalise as the UK emerges from recession and the hotel and leisure industry gets back on its feet and we are delighted to be investing at such an exciting time”

“There are also synergies with Britplas’ own services and we often see our clients in the healthcare and mental health sectors looking for exactly the type of high-quality, flexible build and fit-out service that P&C Projects can provide”

P&C Projects founder and managing director Phill Fletcher said “We are really pleased that Britplas have recognised the investment opportunity in our company and are looking forward to working with them to drive the business forward.

“The backing of a larger contractor will help us to take on bigger projects and allow us to tap into additional support in a variety of areas, from business development to QSHE.”
