MMU's GradMatch offers funding for graduate interns
Manchester Metropolitan University’s graduate employment initiative GradMatch is providing funding for businesses to recruit 2014 graduates for 8-week internships.
This year’s GradMatch scheme will create up to 100 paid internships for MMU graduates who completed their course in summer 2014 and are still looking for a graduate-level work.
GradMatch enables participants to gain paid, graduate-level work experience in a range of industries and businesses in the North West.
It provides businesses with £1,000 to put towards their intern’s salary, with organisations contributing an additional £1,000 to provide the graduate with National Minimum Wage for the full 8-week internship.
A spokesman for the MMU scheme said “Businesses and organisations will be able to recruit an enthusiastic, skilled graduate at a fraction of the cost, while ‘interns’ will gain valuable work experience and develop workplace skills and contacts.
“Employers will also developing existing staff by allowing them to mentor and supervise graduate interns.
“Graduates who are interested in specific sectors are able to source their own internships and should contact the GradMatch team to discuss.”
The organisers ask that vacancies are advertised exclusively through GradMatch for a four week period, in which time they will endeavour to find you a suitable candidate.
Internships will start being advertising from October 2014 but in order to receive the funding, internship start dates must lie between Monday 24th November 2014 and Monday 12th January 2015
