Cheshire company is officially ’Youth Friendly’

Aspire-Education has been recognised for its commitment to supporting young people in the workplace. The company, which has this month taken on five graduate interns at its Cheshire offices, has been awarded ‘Youth Friendly Employer’ bronze status by Youth Employment, an organisation dedicated to tackling youth unemployment in the UK.

“As an education and careers company we are committed to the development of young people and Internships are a great way of supporting individuals with real opportunities to grow their careers,” says Tina Lucas, Founder and CEO of Aspire-Education. “In addition, as a rapidly expanding company, we can meet our own recruitment needs whilst tapping into the unlimited creative potential of a group of young people who bring valuable insight and knowledge of our target audience for our STEMtech Live careers events, the first of which is in Leeds in February.”

New recruit Lauren Newbery who is 21 and from Chorlton, describes how well she has settled in: “I haven’t had the experience of working in a company such as this before, and I was really nervous at the start, but I feel so at ease now and I’m really enjoying it.”

Aspire-Education joins the growing ranks of youth-friendly employers which includes Santander, Kent County Council, Tesco and Tui Travel; and can use the ‘Youth Friendly’ badge.

Laura-Jane Rawlings of Youth Employment UK says: “Internships are a great way to kick-start your career. You can use the opportunity to really impress your employer, as there may be the potential of a permanent position sometime in the future. And even if you subsequently end up working elsewhere, you will get hands-on experience, insight into the business and a network of contacts for the future.”
