BDO Liverpool attracts top talent
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP in Liverpool has appointed three new senior people to the team, all with Big Four backgrounds, as the firm continues to invest in its Merseyside offering.
The firm has recruited a Director and two Senior Managers. Combined, the trio has almost 60 years’ experience in advising ambitious businesses across the North West.
Catherine Fairhurst joins the tax team at BDO following 27 years at EY, 15 of which as a Partner, where she previously headed up the Entrepreneur of the Year awards programme in the North. She advises mid-market companies and international groups on strategic tax planning and is also an Accounting and Finance tutor at Liverpool John Moores University.
Ailsa Cowdell joins the firm as a Senior Manager specialising in VAT. With more than 20 years’ experience, she has previously worked at PwC and KPMG in the North West, as well as starting up her own business and setting up a VAT practice for Howard Worth in Cheshire.
Graham Ellis joins as a Senior Manager in the audit department following nine years at Deloitte in Liverpool. Graham specialises in advising large corporates across the North West, with specific expertise in the manufacturing sector. He also has experience in finance function reviews, IFRS/FRS102 conversions, reporting accountant roles for AIM and main market IPOs, as well as due diligence projects.
In addition, Lauren Fletcher has joined the Liverpool team from BDO’s Manchester office where she has been for seven years. The firm has also recruited five new trainees to its tax and audit departments as part of its award winning graduate programme.
