Leeds entertainment entrepreneur sets sights on Las Vegas after hitting £3 million turnover
Leeds entertainment logistics company The Needs Group, founded by entrepreneur Matt Cheshire, has reported record turnover nearing £3 million, and is planning to expand in Las Vegas.
The Needs Group who is celebrating turning 10 years old, has clients including Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Biffy Clyro, Global Gathering, Glastonbury as well as a string of sporting stars and celebrities saw a 47% growth this year.
The company has also announced a new office in Gloucester.
Director and founder Matt Cheshire, who studied at Leeds College of Music, incorporated The Needs Group back in 2004 and soon discovered the need to create a one-stop shop for events.
Matt Cheshire said: “We started as a tour management company but soon saw the gaps in the market. Moving into the Aviation, we saw the margins that companies were adding on and felt we could offer a better service for much less.
“Likewise we were hiring furniture for a week and sending it back, only to re-hire it a few weeks later. So we opened The Furniture part of the business.”
“It has been a great 10 years of steady expansion and global coverage. 2014 has been a massive year for us, huge growth. We have just opened our second office that will solely concentrate on Aviation.
“We have been lucky enough to work on small, medium and large events all over the world with a strong core of eight full time employees. 2015 will see us open an office in Las Vegas to help serve the West Coast of America.
“We plan on expanding all elements of the business, taking on more events, a brand new furniture catalogue and the full launch of our Black VIP cards”.
The Needs Group have recently become a Living Wage company.
