Leeds turnaround firm in merger with Canary Wharf's PKF Littlejohn
Leeds turnaround and insolvency firm, Geoffrey Martin & Cohas, has merged with PKF Littlejohn LLP, member of the PKF International network, marking a return to the Yorkshire market for the PKF brand.
Formed in 1983, Geoffrey Martin & Co, which has offices in Leeds and London, comprises three partners and fifteen members of staff and will continue to trade under its existing brand.
The Leeds office, led by partner James Sleight, and supported by John Twizell and Steve Hull, will remain in its current location, whilst the London office, led by partners Stephen Goderski and Peter Hart, will relocate to share the PKF Littlejohn offices in Canary Wharf.
James Sleight, Leeds partner of Geoffrey Martin & Co, said: “We are delighted to be joining a growing network of firms with dedicated corporate recovery teams across the UK and Ireland.
“Whilst our primary focus will remain in the Yorkshire and Northern markets we will now be able to call upon deeper resources to advise on more complex projects and help clients across the UK and internationally.
“We will continue to maintain our principal-led approach to all assignments.”

James Sleight is the partner in charge of the Leeds office. He joined the profession in 1998 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2001 and an Insolvency Practitioner in 2003. He joined the firm in 2002 and became a partner in 2009.
Stephen Goderski is a partner in the business recovery arm of the business. He entered the profession in 1985 and qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner in 1994. He joined Geoffrey Martin & Co in 2002.
Peter Hart, is also a London business recovery partner. He has worked in the business recovery sector since 1995 and qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner in 2004. He joined the firm in 2013 from a leading independent advisory firm.
