Revenue Managers - What do customers actually want?
It is the job of a Revenue Manager to predict what a customer wants and charge the right price for the right room at the right time. However research suggests that there is a large difference between what men and women want in their ‘Perfect Hotel’
Hotel revenue management can be a bit of a minefield when it comes to knowing what your customers actually want. We all know that men’s taste differ to the ladies, after all men are from Mars and women from Venus; but when you’re trying to attract both to buy what your hotel has to offer, wouldn’t it be great to have some help?
The travel experts at Skyscanner asked 1000 British travellers their chosen features of a ‘Perfect Hotel’. The results show a difference in opinion between men and women on the importance of things such as fitness equipment, sea views and luxury bath products. A massive 72% of women favour having a sea view, perhaps a more feminine choice than the 50% of men who would want Wi-Fi connection.
Revenue managers can use these figures to ensure their brand and company ethos supports their customer’s checklist and ensure their hotel is distinguishable from all the rest in the crazy online hotel booking world. A revenue management strategy should make sure any unique selling points and key ‘desirables,’ such as the ones listed below, are mentioned in any advertising and marketing to make sure you are not missing out on any revenue opportunities.
A trained revenue management solutions company such as Octopus Revenue Ltd can provide this industry information to suit your target market and ensure your hotel is geared up to attract them.
