Windermere’s Linthwaite House Hotel announces £1.2 million expansion plans
Windermere’s Linthwaite House Hotel plans to expand and has recently gained planning permission to add 9 luxury suits in the grounds of the hotel which will cost £1.2 million to complete creating 10 new jobs in the process.
It reports turnover of £2.5 million excluding VAT.
The Lake District hotel employs 47 people and has been run by owner Mike Bevans for 25 years.
The company was financed via a mixture of bank loans and investors as well as Mike’s own money.
Owner, Mike Bevans said: “We set out to create a hotel that wasn’t still and formal, lots of places have since followed suit, with some great unstuffy brands out there.
“It’s about having a high quality but relaxed environment.
“The easiest thing about work is doing something I love, I get to combine business with pleasure.
“We’re passionate about high standards, we make a great impression because we make people happy.
“We’re there to give people a break from their normal lives, most of our business is return customers and we’ve had three generations of a family enjoy our hotel.
“I love seeing customers fall in love with the Lake District, it’s a place that restores the spirit.”
