New £1.6 million HQ and hundreds of new jobs for rebranded Co-op Pharmacy
The Co-operative Pharmacy has received a revamp by new owners Bestway Group, to the tune of £200 million with a £1.6 million new HQ being built for the firm in Manchester.
Bestway has said they will rebrand of all 780 pharmacies, which already employ 7,000 staff, will create hundreds of jobs over a five-year expansion plan.
£1.6 million will be invested into a new HQ for Well in Manchester, with all 227 staff moving from the current Co-op Group head office to the 22,000 sq ft Merchants Warehouse in Castlefield later this year.
It is aiming to grow revenues from £750 million to £1 billion by 2019.
Manchester-headquartered Co-op sold its pharmacy arm to Bestway Group last year in a £620 million deal.
