New North East networking group launched to counteract marketing isolation
The North East Marketing Managers’ Lunch & Learn networking group, a new North East networking group, has been launched to create a forum where the region’s in-house marketing professionals can share ideas, best practice and counteract isolation issues.
Vicki Stone and Julie Brammer, who run their own marketing and PR businesses, recently started the group and will be holding their next event on Thursday 26th March, 12pm-2pm at Mckennas, Northern Stage.
Guests will hear Sarah Thackray and Catherine Coulter from events and conference consultancy BeaconHouse Events share their advice, knowledge and some unexpected event experiences.
Vicki said:“While recently working together for the same client we identified that the North East lacked an informal group where in-house marketing professionals from managers to executives could connect with each other to share experiences and learn something new.
“A lot of marketers who work in-house, particularly those in very small teams, find it isolating without anyone to bounce ideas off.
“We set up the events to give people a chance to get together once a month in a relaxed setting, with people who understand the issues and opportunities and are willing to share their knowledge with their peers.
“Initial response has been great, and we are looking forward to seeing the group grow and adding some value to the region’s marketing community.”
Claire Fenwick, marketing manager at Mincoffs Solicitors, said: “The events are a refreshing way to network with like-minded marketing professionals to share tips, offer advice and have a chat over lunch. The regular guest speaker presentations are extremely useful and enjoyable.
“Until now, there hasn’t been a forum to do this and Vicki and Julie should be commended for establishing this group.”
