Leeds’ Clipper awarded new e-fulfilment contract with Zara

Clipper Logistics plc, an industry leading provider of value-added logistics solutions and e-fulfilment to the blue-chip retailers, is looking to expand with the largest fashion retail group in the world.

The Leeds-based company announced today it has has signed a new long term contract with Fashion Retail S.A.U., a subsidiary of Inditex, which owns the fashion brand Zara.

Inditex, a Spanish multinational clothing company headquartered in Arteixo, Galicia, currently has over 6,460 stores in 88 countries.

Under the terms of the new contract, Clipper will provide e-fulfilment services for the Zara brand from a new distribution centre in Northampton, which will supply in excess of 340,000 square feet of space.

The Clipper operation will meet the requirements of online orders for Zara fashion in specific European countries.

As well as being based in Yorkshire, Clipper logistics, founded by Steve Parkin in 1992, currently has an expanding business in Germany and employs nearly 3,000 people.

The company provides consultancy-led services within the online fashion and general merchandise sectors to its blue-chip client base including Harvey Nichols, ASOS, The John Lewis Partnership, Asda, Supergroup, Morrisons, New Look, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
