Birmingham hotel achieves double digit growth

A Birmingham hotel has achieved double digit growth and witnessed an increase in bookings for business and leisure.

The Campanile Hotel Birmingham in Chester Street, Aston, has seen its occupancy rates rise to a new high of 71 per cent – achieving 11 per cent growth year-on-year.

Revenue is also up by 13 per cent compared to 2013 with the hotel witnessing an upward trend in weekday bookings thanks to on-going partnerships with local businesses in the area.

Campanile Hotel Birmingham’s positive performance follows a number of renovations at the venue including work to refresh its restaurant and lounge area.

It also comes as overall hotel occupancy rates in Birmingham reached a record high with tourism having been boosted by events such as the Conservative and Green party conferences, international cricket fixtures and the Christmas market.

Alex McLean, general manager at the hotel, said: “We are delighted to have built on the success of previous years having achieved strong performance figures for occupancy and revenue.

“Over the last 12 months we have continued to focus on innovation and producing fresh experiences for our customers and guests with a variety of menu offers, conference room deals and competitive room rates.

“We have also developed strong relationships with a number of key businesses in the city who regularly take advantage of our state-of-the-art conference facilities as well as booking rooms at the hotel during training events.

“Birmingham as a whole has seen tourism continue to increase as the economy goes from strength to strength and we have fortunately been in a position to grow alongside this.

“We are conveniently located in the heart of the city and regularly witness a spike in bookings as tourists flock to attend events at the NEC and NIA.

“2015 promises to be another busy year in the city with the opening of Grand Central Birmingham, Rugby World Cup fixtures and the England v Australia Ashes Test Match and we are looking forward to the ongoing benefits of these.”
