Ground up expansion for growing Teesside property development consultancy

Teesside-based Buckley Burnett, a growing property development consultancy, has outlined its desire to take on more staff after its fourth year turnover surpassed £500k.

Directors Andrew Burnett and Richard Buckley recently took on two additional personnel and with further expansion expected in 2015, plans are in place to add to its growing workforce.

Buckley Burnett also has a hub of partner consultants who work closely with Andrew and Richard to enable the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects.

The company was set up in March 2011 and in its first year generated a turnover of £150k.

This figure has grown year on year to the £600k mark in 2015 and Richard and Andrew are reportedly confident they will reach £750k by the end of the next financial year.

Andrew, a former director of Bett Homes, said: “We want to be a one-stop-shop for clients throughout the North East and beyond and we pride ourselves on being able to deliver the best results cost effectively and smoothly.

“Our expansion and development from the ground up is something we are immensely proud of and we want that to continue at a natural rate.

“We have plans to bring an additional partner into the company, which would give Richard and I more time to focus on expanding our portfolio of services and development interests.

“And of course we’d like to recruit more talented people from within the sector who will support us with the delivery of the diverse range of projects we’re involved with.”

Richard, who was Director of Development at Tees Valley Unlimited before going into partnership with Andrew, said: “We started the business with nothing but felt it was the right time to launch. It certainly wasn’t the easy option.

“I had choices and could have gone to work for another organisation, but I really believed we could make this work and I’ve been proved right.

“By utilising our expertise and the extensive contacts we’d built up, we were able to secure both public and private sector contracts and quickly began to grow.

“Each year our turnover has increased and the challenge for us now is to continue to invest in the right people who will enable us to take Buckley Burnett to the next level.”
