Manchester-based BCL Legal expands offices in Deansgate

Manchester-based BCL Legal have used a funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to expand into the first floor of its building in Deansgate. The legal recruitment consultancy already have space on the second, third and fourth floors.

BCL Legal employ 57 people at its flagship headquarters in Manchester as well as boasting regional offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Reading.

The relocation from its Lexicon Building in Mount Street took place in October 2014 and the company has rapidly sought plans to leasehold more of the building space which is testament to how quickly the firm is growing.

BCL will occupy the majority of the square footage available with a view to leasing the remaining floor space.

Managing director at BCL Legal Ltd, James Batt, said: “We are thrilled with our central location and the benefits this offers for both our clients and employees.

“By acquiring the first floor, this opens up commercial rental opportunities and provides the firm with the security of a long-term lease and increased presence in our building.

“RBS has been instrumental in allowing our relocation, expansion and future growth to prevail through the provision of a funding package, for which we are very grateful.”

Senior Relationship Manager at RBS, Anthony McGreevy, said: “This overall deal required high level relationship management and an understanding of what BCL were looking to achieve.

“As a long-term supporter of the company and management team, I understood James’ business aspirations from the outset and was able to complete the deal in a timely manner.

“I wish the BCL team all the best as they settle into their new surroundings and enjoy the benefits this will bring to their business.”
