Leeds’ One Medical Group secures NHS Urgent Care health centre contract

Leeds-based One Medical Group, a national provider of healthcare solutions for premises and care delivery, has been awarded a multi-million pound tender, for the new NHS Urgent Care health centre with a patient support and advice hub in Derby.

The healthcare premises provider have been contracted, for three years of service, to manage the Derby Urgent Care Centre with a branch service at their existing health centre, St Thomas Road Surgery, employing over a decade of experience in patient care solutions.

As well as having a £42m healthcare property portfolio, the One Medical Group has an annual turnover of over £10m and has dealt with over 2.7 million patient contacts, since becoming established.

The Yorkshire healthcare premises provider, which employs over 250 people, delivers a patient first approach for NHS contracts and GP premises support services, including integrated management information and centralised back office functions, across the UK.

The new Derby contract means NHS services will be able to ease the pressure on local A&E departments, and the sites are projected to see over 72,000 patients a year, delivering care for patients with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

The terms of the agreement also includes the introduction a new X-Ray service at the main site and a patient education resource, which will advise the public on how to manage their health and wellbeing, providing information on specific health concerns and tips on improving patient lifestyle.

Rachel Beverley-Stevenson, chief executive of One Medical Group, said: “As a team we are thrilled to win this new expanded multi-site contract in Derby. We will use our experience in the area to maximise engagement with patients, clients, staff and NHS commissioners for a new generation of better healthcare premises and services. We look forward to building on our hard work to deliver excellent quality, patient centred care to the Derby community.”
