New Tyneside business centre ‘dedicated to bringing big business back to the region’

Sovereign Adavo, a company specialising in renovating and retrofitting grandiose buildings of by-gone years and transforming them into modern business centres, is celebrating a string of first milestones at its newest venture in Jarrow, Clervaux Exchange.

As well as welcoming its first tenant into the former police station and magistrates courts, Sovereign Adavo has now appointed its first full-time employee at the business centre.

Gail Scott joins the company as Clervaux Exchange’s receptionist and will be responsible for greeting guests, managing events and ensuring tenants day to day needs are met.

Sovereign Adavo has welcomed its first tenant into the building, seeing Epinay Business and Enterprise School taking up the first of 47 units available to businesses, providing workspace for the recently designated NCTL Teaching Schools team.

The school is a specialist school catering for children and young people with a wide range of Special Education Needs and is the lead school for the Epinay Teaching School Partnership.

Commenting on the new tenants, Mark Black, managing director of Sovereign Adavo said: “Epinay Business and Enterprise School is a fantastic place that gives young people facing different types of challenges a real foundation in which to build great futures.

“We’re delighted the school has chosen Clervaux Exchange as its new home for the Teaching School team.”

Sovereign Adavo purchased the old Jarrow Police Station in May 2014 and following an extensive refurbishment program, has transformed the building into a state-of-the-art business centre while retaining much of its unique and original features.

Hilary Harrison, headteacher of Epinay School, said: “We’re delighted to have such high-quality facilities on our doorstep, allowing our Teaching School team to relocate to a bigger office space while freeing up square feet in the school so we can continue to grow and expand.”

As well as the physical office space afforded at Clervaux Exchange, Sovereign Adavo also offers a Virtual Office facility, which is now being taken up by a number of businesses across the North East.

For a nominal fee, start-up companies setting out on their new business ventures can register for a telephone number and physical address at Clervaux Exchange, giving them the credibility of a larger outfit while working from home, as they develop and grow to a point where they are then ready to move into a physical office space.

Mr Black continued: “We’re dedicated to bringing big business back to the region and following the success of an earlier project at the Town Hall in Wallsend, I’m pleased to report Clervaux Exchange seems to be following in the same track.

“We’re celebrating this string of firsts with several other businesses expressing an interest in taking up units in the building and using our Virtual Office facility.”

The first phase of the Clervaux Exchange renovation is now complete with additional work continuing throughout the building expected to finish before the end of the year. To celebrate these first milestones, Sovereign Adavo will host an official launch event at Clervaux Exchange on 11th June 2015 at 3.30pm.
