Sheffield Wednesday to enhance match day experience with giant LED screen
For the start of the 2015/16 season, Sheffield Wednesday fans will be treated to a whole new match day experience at Hillsborough.
The Championship football club has made a six figure investment in a huge new 60 sqm LED screen from stadium technology specialists ADI.
Once installed by ADI in the ground’s South West corner this summer, the giant LED screen will be the biggest in the entire Football League.
Work to remove The Owls’ old scoreboard already begun earlier this week.
As reported in [F.C. Business](http://fcbusiness.co.uk/news/article/newsitem=3866/title=adi%92s+stadium+technology+to+transform+hillsborough+experience), ADI will collaborate with Sheffield Wednesday to develop stimulating content along with exclusive features, match highlights, news, instant replays, social media and live stats.
In addition, the screen will also connect to Live Venue via ADI’s unique high speed fibre network that links every Premier League and Football League stadium to the company’s Preston-based sports production hub.
ADI’s CEO Geraint Williams said: “Sheffield Wednesday is a club with a vision shared by ADI – to create a transformative commercial and fan engagement platform that delivers real value.
“That value is driven by content and the engagement it creates. Our history proves that we invest in our relationships and we look forward to working closely with Sheffield Wednesday, using technology to help the club create a real competitive advantage.”
Paul Aldridge, the club’s vice chairman, who is leaving at the end of next season, added: “We’re delighted to be working with ADI, utilising their vast experience in sport to enhance the match day at Hillsborough. and we’re excited about the kind of content we’ll be able to deliver as a result of being connected to the Live Venue network.
“ADI has a proven track record in football and their exceptional quality and high service level will help create an exciting new platform that will deliver long term value for our supporters and commercial partners alike.”
