Yorkshire based furniture and modern design store Nest.co.uk has hired six new staff and tripled its warehouse space following a period of rapid growth.

The independent retailer, which was founded in 2001, now employs 26 members of staff and processes in excess of 450 orders per month from its Sheffield headquarters located just off the Parkway.

The expansion sees the company welcome a number of new head office and warehouse staff, including experienced Logistics Coordinator Adam Yates who is tasked with maintaining the company’s delivery system in light of increased demand.

Beverley Cook has been appointed as Commercial Support Assistant, alongside Office Administrator Matthew Halton in the company’s growing sales team. Joining the showroom, Rebecca Davies has been appointed to work alongside Retail Sales Consultant Jo.

Warehouse Assistants Oliver Cockbill-Black and Marley Quince have also been appointed to support with the influx of orders being processed online through the company’s new tablet led, design orientated website. This was launched earlier in the year and coincides with Nest.co.uk’s values of ‘helping you curate your perfect space’ through engaging and relevant content.Marketing & Operations Director Toni Sanderson said the move followed a ‘significant increase’ in online orders from across the country and an influx of customers to its Sheffield showroom.

She said: “This has been a very exciting time for the business, with both online sales and footfall to our Sheffield showroom increasing.

“The greater demand for stock has prompted expansion of both our head office and team and our warehouse which now spans more than 12000 sqft – a move which allows us to store additional products and start to work with more designers in order to expand our range.

“Our increased team size also allows us to remain focused on our core value of delivering excellent customer service at every stage of the shopping process.”

Over the next 12 months Nest.co.uk is also working towards launching its own UK delivery service.

Toni Sanderson said: “As a growing company we strive to ensure that our offering meets the needs of our customers. “

“As part of this we are always looking to the future to ensure that we continue to deliver excellence as we grow and expand.

“Over the next 12 months we are working towards launching our own dedicated delivery and white glove installation service. The service will mean further job creations as well as a fully managed in-house UK delivery service tailored specifically to our customer’s needs.”

Earlier this year Nest.co.uk, which also offers a b2b, worked in partnership with the Millennium Gallery Sheffield to carry out a re-fit on the museum’s café which was managed by the company’s New Business Development Manager Tom Crookes.
