Lytham St Annes hotel to undergo £2.5m upgrade
The Dalmeny in Lytham St Annes has unveiled its £2.5m refurbishment programme ahead of its 70th anniversary next year.
Over the next 12 months, 80 of the family hotel’s 125 bedrooms will be given a facelift, while a new function suite and ceremony room for weddings are currently being developed.
The programme will also involve the creation of a new restaurant and improvements to the spa facilities are also planned as The Dalmeny looks to offer an enhanced health and wellbeing service.
Director Samantha Lewis says that as The Dalmeny targets further growth, investment in its three key market segments – leisure guests, corporate guests and events – is crucial.
She said: “Our aim has always been to develop a destination that will have a very long and rich legacy and create great experiences and lasting happy memories. Investment of this kind will provide even more reason for people to visit, and keep visiting, The Dalmeny Resort Hotel.
“As customer habits continue to evolve, hotels must stay in tune with trends and invest in quality to ensure we’re providing what people want. For example, as well as refurbishing our rooms and updating the bathrooms, we’ve also created new family rooms and added two more rooms with facilities for wheelchair users.
“We’re seeing an increase in wedding bookings, much of which has been due to the growing popularity of winter weddings and an upsurge in bookings from older clients. The new facilities will allow us to host up to 200 people for celebrations and corporate events, and we’re already experiencing high levels of demand.”
Due to be completed next spring, the new ceremony room will host up to 80 guests within the Atrium Suite area and has an exclusive red carpet entrance off the car park for enhanced privacy. The Atrium itself can accommodate 200 people with its own mezzanine level cocktail bar.
The new restaurant, Indigo Bar and Grill, will feature a brand new a la carte menu designed by head chef Kyle de’Ath and using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Samantha added: “The Carvery restaurant has served us very well for the past 30 years but we have found our clientele is looking for a more modern dining experience, and this new restaurant will be our best yet.
“The real driving force behind this substantial investment comes from confidence in our product. Our renovation project takes into consideration the varying needs of different customers and we believe in aiming high.
“We’ll celebrate our 70th year next year and our family and corporate business continues to go from strength to strength. With this investment, we hope to grow this market even further.”
