Explore Learning recognised by Newcastle University

Explore Learning in Newcastle has been awarded the exciting accolade of Newcastle University’s Student Employer of the Year. The local business is thrilled to have been named the regional winner having fought off tough competition from businesses all over the city. The team attended the prestigious national awards ceremony in Liverpool on Thursday. Although the team were pipped to the post for the crown they were commended as one of the top five employers in the country.

This isn’t the team’s only accomplishment as the awards operated on the basis of nomination by a winning employee. The education centre’s tutor, Emma Jewers, who attends Newcastle University was nominated as the best employee by Explore Learning Newcastle and deservedly won the highly coveted prize. In return, the winning tutor successfully nominated the tuition centre for the university Student Employer of the Year award.

Emma Stephenson, the Centre Director of Explore Learning, Newcastle says: “Emma is a real attribute to our centre and the team here. She has great relationships with the families that come along to the centre and we’re really pleased she nominated us for the award. At Explore Learning we really nurture young talent and have extensive training in place to ensure effective development of our teams. It is a real honour to have been nominated by such a valued employee and to have been awarded this recognition by Newcastle University and the National Association of Students.”

This award follows Explore Learning’s recent recognition as one of the top companies in the UK to work for in the prestigious Sunday Times 100 Best Companies list for 2015. Explore Learning provides extra tuition to children aged five to 14 and has 114 centres located across the UK. Explore Learning is a very accessible form of extra tuition, costing between £109 to £129 per month (depending on location) for two weekly sessions. Tutors work with children in a low ratio (1:6 maximum) to create a fun and vibrant atmosphere and each Explore member has an individualised learning programme, tailored to meet their needs. All courses are mapped to the National Curriculum or the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland.
