North West recruitment company MERJE reveals profit hike and job creation

North West recruitment firm MERJE has seen its profits leap by 65% in the first half of 2015, with plans in place to create more jobs in the coming months.

The company, which has an office in Bury, Greater Manchester, is expecting to hit a turnover of £4.6m by the end of the year, which represents a 25% increase on its original forecast.

With its current staff retention rate of 100%, the firm has welcomed five new employees in the last year, boosting its staff number to 24. Now, MERJE expects to take on an additional six employees by the end of 2015.

MERJE’s director, Richard Abelson, said: “In the first half of the year, we’ve continued to experience significant growth – so much so, that our figures are currently on track to eclipse those forecasted at the beginning of 2015.

“As well as our ever-expanding client portfolio and increased PSL (preferred supplier list) placements, this growth can be attributed to the development of our specialist team.”

He added: “Each member of staff has an extensive background in their target sector, enabling them to provide dedicated expertise to our network of clients and candidates.”

The company is now on track to reach a fee income of £2.3m, a fact it puts down to its focus on investing in technology.

Richard continued: “Due to this success, we’ve also launched our own recruitment drive in a bid to further enhance the expertise we can provide, especially in the finance sector.”
