Merger sees two Cheshire property consultancies strengthen market position
In a bid to strengthen their positions in the market, Cheshire-based commercial property consultancies Legat Owen and Lamont Commercial have merged to form Legat Owen (Incorporating Lamont).
Creating a combined team of 37 employees, the move will see the new company operating offices in Chester and Nantwich.
The announcement has coincided with a number of senior changes at the company. Peter Owen, a founding partner of Legat Owen, is due to step down as managing director, as is Lamont Commercial founder Neil Lamont. Elsewhere, Legat Owen’s head of management, director Sue Harris, will also step down. All three are due to take up consultancy roles.
Discussing the changes, Peter Johnston, the head of Legat Owen (incorporating Lamont), said: “This merger brings together two dynamic and well-respected companies that have a very similar approach to business, taking pride in our commitment to personal service and long-standing client relationships, some of which we share.
“By merging we will succeed in retaining our independence, strengthen our core business and broaden our client base.”
The merger has also coincided with a number of recent promotions, including the appointment of Matthew Pochin as the company’s new director of industrial agency, James Lutton as director of retail agency, Will Sadler as director of office agency and Mark Atherton as director of building surveying.
Additionally, Andy Butler is the new director of the office in Nantwich, while Sam Tarjomani is the new associate director of valuation. Further, the firm has promoted Karen Kilcourse to the role of associate of the Nantwich office, and Heather Johnston and Jon Hardie as senior surveyors.
