North West construction consultancy launches new office to target national expansion
North West construction consultancy Walker Sime is targeting national expansion with the launch of its first office outside the region.
The firm, which has offices in Liverpool and Manchester, has established a new site in the South East, near Gatwick, due to a demand from it clients to provide support on projects outside its North West heartland.
A founding director of the company, Derek Walker, said of the expansion: “Now is the right time for us to further cement our position as a national consultant. We have built a reputation with our clients for providing professional expertise throughout projects and, as a result, they have continually asked us to work on projects down in the South.
“We never compromise on service or client expectations. Our maintained growth, our ability to attract talent and compete with larger players means we are now confident we can build a strong presence in the South and truly be seen as a national consultant.”
The new office will be led by Martin Hughes, who has worked in the industry for more than 35 years. While just two employees will be based at the office initially, Walker Sime intends to hire around 15 more in the next 12 months.
Martin said of his appointment: “Walker Sime has established itself as a reputable, professional and trusted consultancy who work on exciting projects throughout the North West and beyond with high profile clients.
“It has, for some time, worked on projects outside of its ‘backyard’ in the North West and now is the right time to build upon these opportunities and develop its presence in the South East.”
He added: “It is personally an exciting opportunity for me to join the company as it enters a new phase in its growth.”
