Liverpool FC nets Maxxis contract extension

Liverpool FC has extended its partnership with tyre manufacturer Maxxis International for another two years.

The deal will see the company, which distributes tyres in more than 150 countries, join Liverpool FC for a third term of digital advertising and LED placement on matchdays in return for its continuing support of the club.

Commenting on the agreement, Liverpool FC’s chief commercial officer, Billy Hogan, said: “Our partnerships are really about working together effectively and towards mutual goals – we’re now entering our third term with Maxxis and they’re a great example of the long-term relationships we like to develop.

“I am delighted by the renewal and we look forward to working with Maxxis over the next two seasons.”

Maxxis first partnered with the club in 2009, with Derek McMartin, the firm’s managing director, calling the ongoing contract “very beneficial” for both organisations.

Derek said: “Asia is now a highly important market for English football clubs, and Europe is a rapidly expanding market for us – so there’s a lot of synergy there.

“Add to that the fact the club has over 4.5m followers on Twitter and 26m on Facebook and it becomes very clear that our two brands combine for the perfect collaboration.”

He added: “We’re extremely excited to cheer on the team and see how the season unfolds.”
