Rethink Group invests £85k in staff training
Rethink Group, the recruitment and talent management firm based in Manchester, has revealed that it has invested £85k in training its employees this year.
The investment programme has been driven by the company’s chief people officer, Andy Lord, who has aimed to encourage staff to undertake new qualifications and courses.
Commenting on the training drive, Andy said: “If you want your business to be the best then it’s imperative that you allocate the necessary level of investment towards staff training. Your people are your business and you need to help them stay on top of their game.”
The five-figure sum spent so far has been allocated towards courses from one-day vocational programmes to Master of Business Administration (MBA) qualifications.
Andy continued: “We don’t want to limit the types of courses staff want to undertake and that’s why we’ve invested in everything from formal university-led MBA courses to shorter programmes run by industry bodies. We believe the decision lies with our team who are keen on choosing the right training course for them.”
In a bid to help employees remain loyal to Rethink and its client base, Andy said the company, which was established in 2005, has also introduced a number of initiatives this year, such as incentives for those returning to work after paternity and maternity leave, and paid leave for staff wishing to undertake charity work.
Andy said he believes such moves increase the long-term commitment of employees. He added: “We don’t have to dangle big financial packages alone, we want people to be happy, healthy and motivated at their desks.”
